MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Hardware Engineer the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of Product Director Army Watercraft Systems.

Lead/Manage/Support as a critical Hardware Engineer for a range of tactical communication and positioning systems, including the PRC-117G, PRC-160, VIC-3, VIC-5 radios, Joint Battle Command – Platform (JBC-P), and the Defense Advanced GPS Receiver (DAGR).Encompass diligent monitoring of Army web portals for the latest firmware, software, and manuals, followed by providing upgrade support and remote troubleshooting for field sustainment teams and engineers.Training AWS crew members on COMSEC keying, system configuration, and secure/unsecure communication procedures, alongside maintaining a vital support account with Original Equipment Manufacturers for technical assistance and repairs.Beyond direct system support, the Hardware Engineer actively manages obsolescence through Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDRs), Requests for Variance (RFVs), and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), collaborating with Configuration Management personnel to define documentation requirements and developing related proposals as needed.Contribute to research on emerging technologies for system integration and provide drawing support and Quality Assurance utilizing AutoCAD skills.Coordinating AWS CST Incident Reports, monitoring issues, and driving resolutions.Travel to support vessel repairs, lab work, harbormaster shelter deployments, technical training, preventative maintenance, and equipment installation/upgrades related to C5ISR systems.Provides comprehensive technical expertise and support across a diverse portfolio of critical communication and navigation technologies.

Education: Engineering degree in Communication Systems (will consider 4 years of experience in lieu of degree).Experience: 1+ years of related experiencePRC-117G, PRC-160, VIC-3, VIC-5 radios, Joint Battle Command – Platform (JBC-P), and the Defense Advanced GPS Receiver (DAGR).Security clearance level: Secret
