Job Title: Hardware Engineer

Job Description

This role involves working on projects that include complex systems. The position requires design iteration across various systems including sensors, propulsion, and payloads. The engineer will focus on electrical and mechanical systems, actuators, and require expertise in PCB design and an understanding of firmware. This role is ideal for someone with extensive motor control experience and knowledge in acoustics, radios, antennas, and fuel cells.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical design for projects involving systems and sensors.Perform design iterations for electrical and mechanical systems.Engage in PCB design, including schematics and layout development.Work with Altium and DraftSight for cable diagrams.Oversee the entire process from design to testing, integration, and commissioning.Potentially travel internationally for up to 8 weeks a year.Be comfortable working on vessels.

Essential Skills

Professional Engineer (P.Eng) certification, or a plan to obtain it within 2-3 years.Experience in PCB design, schematics, and layouts.Proficiency with Altium and DraftSight for cable diagrams.Experience in motor control and related industries.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in firmware development.

Work Environment

The role may require international travel up to 8 weeks a year and involves work on vessels. The engineer will work with advanced technologies and equipment in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vancouver, British Columbia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Vancouver,BC.
