Purpose of the Role
BGIS is seeking a proactive and multi-skilled Handyperson to deliver general repairs and preventative maintenance at a major healthcare precinct in Southport. Reporting directly to the Team Leader, you will support the site’s facilities operations with a focus on safety, reliability, and compliance.

This is a permanent, full-time onsite role that offers stability and the chance to support an essential community-facing service. PPE, iPad, and mobile phone are provided.

The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, solutions-focused, and enjoy hands-on work in a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out general preventative and corrective maintenance (e.g., painting, tiling, basic plumbing, and carpentry) Respond to helpdesk calls and record tasks using QFM systems Monitor building systems and provide basic equipment inspections Coordinate with contractors and support the Facilities Manager as required Maintain safety standards and ensure all compliance obligations are met

Education, Experience & Skills

Essential:

Demonstrated experience in facilities or general maintenance Excellent verbal and written communication Understanding of OH&S policies and safe work methods High School Certificate or equivalent Current Driver Licence

Desirable:

Experience in healthcare or PPP environments Trade background or relevant qualifications
