The Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator is staffed twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week. The position monitors all security, communications and fire/life safety systems and is the liaison between all security departments. The Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator is directly responsible for the accurate documentation of routine and unusual events occurring on or near the facilities and maintains control of all equipment and keys in the Control Room. This position is responsible for competing task work orders for all maintenance needs reported.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Alarm Monitoring: Operators monitor all physical security equipment on a global basis to ensure the physical security of all employees, contingents, and office spacesAccess Management: Operators manage day to day access to all company facilities, ensuring compliance with customer, auditorial, and company policyCCTV System: Operators manage the companies CCTV system and process video footage requestConduct alarm monitoringManage all access report requests in accordance with company policyNotify the appropriate personnel in an emergencyLiaison between clients, other departments, and company leadership during an emergencyMonitor and control removal of company and personal propertyReport all building utility/ service issues as observed and instructed to facilitiesManage the day-to-day requirements for the Companies Anti-tailgating programEvaluate and recommend improved procedural safety/security protocols or processesDisplay exceptional customer service and communication skillsStay calm in critical or stressful situationsWork flexible schedules, including some nights and weekendsAccurately maintain control of all equipment and keys in the Control Room. Accurately logs all equipment and keys signed out and returned by securityBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Must possess a high school diploma or equivalentLicensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employmentWork experience must include of the following:Demonstrated analytic and critical thinking skills and ability to expertly prepare reportsAbility to use logic and reasoning to reach conclusions and approaches to problemsDemonstrated high level of competency with advanced computer systems (e.g., hardware, software, and networks)Possession of highly proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to communicate effectively with IT and Security Systems professionalsDemonstrated ability to operate radio, telephone equipment and/or console monitorsFlexibility to work various shifts and willingness to assist the team when neededAbility to adapt to a dynamic environment and work under pressureComfortable in an environment where there is an expectation for constant learningEffective oral and written communication skillsActive listening skillsAbility to assess and evaluate situations effectivelyAbility to identify critical issues quickly and accuratelyAttention to detailProblem solving skillsCompile, sort, and interpret dataIdentify critical issues quickly and accuratelyEncourage effective teamworkMediate conflict with tact, diplomacyHandle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficientlyPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:College degree, or actively enrolled in college, with a focus on Criminal Justice or other protective service-related field of studyDispatcher (APCO) Certification or equivalent
