Work Arrangement

On Site: The successful candidate will be expected to report to our automotive assembly plant in Lake Orion, Michigan, five times per week, at a minimum.

The Role

The GSIP Technical Support/Business Manager plays a critical role in supporting and enhancing the Global Standardized Inspection Process (GSIP) system across the plant floor and is responsible for overseeing the strategic and day-to-day business functions for the quality department.  This individual ensures GSIP’s reliability, drives global standardization in inspection practices, and aligns GSIP initiatives with broader quality and business goals.  The individual will also ensure that quality initiatives are aligned with plant goals, resources are effectively managed, and performance metrics are tracked and improved. The role will require a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.  In addition, the individual will act as a key liaison between quality engineering, production, finance, and leadership teams.

What You'll DoDevelop/set up/maintain the GSIP system at the plantSupport validation process as required (UATs)Serve as the subject matter expert for the GSIP system, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting supportManage system performance, data integrity, and user access across the plant siteCollaborate with IT and engineering teams to implement system upgrades and enhancementsDevelop and deliver training materials for GSIP users, including team leaders, group leaders, inspectors and quality engineersMonitor and report on GSIP-related KPIs, including inspection accuracy and defect detection ratesLead initiatives to improve inspection efficiency and reduce DRR/DRL lossesAlign GSIP system capabilities with business objectives and quality standardsManage documentation, SOPs, and audit readiness related to GSIP usageSupport change management and continuous improvement programs.Manage budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking for quality operationsMonitor and report on cost of poor quality (COPQ), warranty claims, and supplier chargebacksIdentify and implement cost reduction opportunities without compromising qualityCollaborate with quality engineers, supplier quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve systemic issuesFacilitate cross-functional meetings and drive accountability for corrective actionsSupport staffing plans, training coordination, and resource allocation

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)3+ years of experience in manufacturing or quality operationsStrong analytical and financial acumenExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProven ability to work collaboratively across teamsKnowledge of automotive manufacturing processesCustomer-focused mindset with managerial courageProficient in tools such as SAP, Sharepoint, Excel, and GSIP
