Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and motivated part time Group Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team Group Therapists play a vital role in empowering the children we serve. This role is responsible for designing, facilitating, and evaluating group therapy sessions that address the emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs of residents with mental health diagnoses, intellectual disabilities, and/or developmental disabilities. Using strong communication skills and a collaborative approach with both clients and staff, you’ll help create an environment where every child can thrive and work toward the highest quality of life possible.
Essential Job Duties:
Plan and facilitate engaging, evidence-based group therapy sessions tailored to the needs, abilities, and treatment goals of adolescent residents in the traditional RTF and ITP. Utilize therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, social skills training, and psychoeducation to address emotional regulation, coping strategies, and interpersonal skills. Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive group environment that encourages participation, peer connection, and mutual respect. Complete required paperwork (all client contacts, progress notes, tx plans and reviews) Communicate regularly with clinical, direct care, and educational staff to ensure consistency in resident care. Provide crisis intervention, redirection, and behavioral support as needed. Attend meetings (multi d, red flag meetings, school and supervision etc.) Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor

Minimum Education Required:
Master’s Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
Minimum Experience Required:
At least 1 year of experience working with children and families in a Social Work or Mental Health setting. This may include an internship.
License/Registration/Certifications Required:
Must have one of the following NYS Licensure: LMSW/LCSW/LMHC/LMHC-P or; NYS Licensure eligible and obtain licensure within 6 months from date of hire Valid NYS Driver’s License
