What is needed for this job:
Associates degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or human services and two years of experience with children. Exhibit strong leadership skills. Possess a passion for member service, building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence.The responsibilities we will trust you with:
Planning of the curriculum. Prepare and implement daily age/developmentally appropriate activities. Oversee the safety and location of all the youth in your group. Actively participate with the youth in all activities. Ensure proper clean up and maintenance of all materials. Maintain sensitivity and patience with youth and parents. Always maintain confidentiality. Notify the site director of any personal or programmatic problems and suggestions. Maintain paperwork (curriculum, lesson plans, parent communication, and incident reports). Attend all necessary YMCA/DPW/DHS/OST trainings. Attend Staff Meetings/Team Teaching Meetings/Back to School Nights. Participate as a YMCA team member and contribute to the attainment of the YMCA mission. Know the mission and be able to apply it to your job responsibilities. Perform other related duties as assigned.
