This role is slated as a hybrid role. However, there will be frequent and at times unplanned work in the local Bend, OR area. Due to this, candidates will need to be located in or near Bend, OR.

Position Summary

The Group Sales Representative is a passionate "go-getter" - a diligent and dedicated professional who drives new business growth through key travel industry connections, strategic prospecting, lead qualification, and group booking conversions across targeted market segments while supporting overall team objectives.

This role focuses on developing both outbound prospect engagement and inbound lead nurturing for group reservations spanning our comprehensive portfolio of year-round recreational activities, experiences, and venue offerings. The representative executes initiatives while building strong client relationships to maximize conversion rates and achieve revenue targets, contributing to collective team success.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities

Outbound Sales & Lead Generation

Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through direct prospecting, targeted email campaigns, and market analysis within key client segments.

Execute sales strategies to establish market presence and expand client portfolios in new territories and demographic segments.

Maintain a robust sales pipeline through consistent lead generation and structured follow-up protocols throughout the qualification process.

Partnerships – Development & Management

Build and maintain relationships with local and regional stakeholders, community partners, clients, and group organizers.

Keep partners informed of Mt. Bachelor and Sun Country Tours product offerings, services, and experience value through regular communication · Cultivate partnerships that generate referral opportunities.

Participate in local, regional, and national networking events and business gatherings to expand and strengthen market presence.

Conduct sales presentations and site visits or FAMs (familiarization trips) to showcase offerings.

Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, maintaining detailed communication to understand client requirements and preferences throughout the sales process.

Represent the company professionally at all interactions while promoting a positive image through effective customer communications and authentic representation of organizational values.

Market Segment Focus

Corporate Markets: Develop and maintain relationships with businesses seeking team-building retreats, executive getaways, corporate meetings, conferences, and adventure-based corporate events.

Group Tourism & Recreation: Target recreational ski groups, families, adventure enthusiasts, educational institutions, ski clubs, competitive teams, and community organizations for seasonal and year-round activities.

Special Events & Hospitality: Identify and pursue wedding venues, milestone celebrations, private parties, family reunions, and banquet opportunities.

Sports & Athletic Organizations: Engage professional and amateur sports teams, athletic clubs, tournament organizers, and sports training camps for group bookings and events.

Other: Cultivate relationships with religious groups, youth organizations, summer camps, and athletic teams for retreat and outdoor experience programs.

Revenue & Performance Management

Meet or exceed assigned revenue targets and quota achievement responsibilities while contributing to overall Sales team performance goals.

Conduct pricing negotiations and manage contract terms to optimize profitability.

Provide accurate revenue forecasting and pipeline reporting to support business planning and Sales team coordination.

Additional Responsibilities

Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Mt. Bachelor and Sun Country Tours products, pricing structures, and operational policies.

Prepare detailed activity reports including lead generation metrics, conversion analytics, and performance assessments for management review.

Coordinate with the Group Sales Coordinator to ensure seamless lead management protocols, group logistics facilitation, and post-visit procedures.

Support the Sales team with product fulfillment, including lift ticket processing, client event attendance, banquet coordination, and on-site activity support.

Collaborate with Sales team members on cross-selling opportunities and account management strategies.

Engage in continuous professional development through sales training programs and industry education opportunities.

Provide support for trade shows and promotional events as directed by management, working collaboratively with Sales team members.

Requirements

The Group Sales Representative must possess the following attributes:

Specific Job Skills

License/Certifications: Driver’s license required, for occasional use of company vehicles. Readily available and reliable transportation is required.

Technical: Computer proficiency and experience with the Microsoft Office suite required.  Expertise with software like Monday CRM, Salesforce, Fareharbor, or RTP|ONE is desirable but not required. Must demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software platforms.

Physical Capabilities: Ski/ride at an intermediate or above level. Lifting of trade show materials and display set-up will be required.

Additional: Superior verbal and written communication skills are essential. Infrequent travel is likely.

Education/Related Experience

Minimum Education: High School diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred.

Minimum time in related position: Minimum 3+ years of direct sales.  Sales experience in tourism, hospitality, or related industries preferred.

Current Hiring Range: $50-55k/yr (DOE) & eligible for commission program

Minimum Age Requirement: 21+
