Lead and monitor the daily Shipping activities of FLM, Team Leaders and Warehouse Associates. Develop and revise standardized work with local engineering team, mentor FLM, Team Leaders and staff to improve problem-solving skills. Perform a variety of specialized administrative/supervisory duties.
• Accountable to the appropriate manager for department performance in the areas of quality, cost, delivery, safety environment, and policy administration.
• Provide leadership for the teams to ensure success in the transition to self-management
• Lead teams through conflict resolution processes and mediate team conflicts as needed. Resolve grievances and handle disciplinary situations as appropriate.
• Ensure that teams and team members have the necessary resources and training to accomplish department goals.
• Manage team and department boundaries to ensure that decisions and actions of the team and the organization comply with established standards, policies, and procedures
• Facilitate and coordinate external support as needed by the team.
• Assign work as needed, instruct direct reports including flex staff, direct efforts and monitor progress and effectiveness of individual and group assignments.
• Conduct performance reviews and recommend personnel actions for direct reports. Recognize team accomplishments
• Collect, Extract and interpret data from a variety of sources.
• Create and maintain databases, retrieve information and prepare reports and correspondence.
• Research source documents and prepare moderately complex reports, spreadsheets and databases using complex mathematical and logic formulas.
• Prepare business charts for warehouse KPI
• May act as contact for vendors for services performed, etc.
• Coaching and Mentoring - Develop Team Leaders in BPS principles such as Standardized Work, Problem Solving,Transparency, A3, PDSS, Thinking, Deviation Tracking, learning via process experimentation
• Lead team efforts involving departmental projects and initiatives
• Lead customer satisfaction through KPI and CIP activities
• Provide guidance and technical support to the teams for continuous improvement process activities.
• Lead large groups or projects.
• Assist in development of others.
*Perform first line supervisory duties for staff.
Qualifications• BS or BA degree required, Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering preferred
• 3-5 years job-specific experience
• Demonstrated supervisory experience
• Thorough knowledge of department and company policies and procedures
• Thorough knowledge of planning and legal issues associated with a leadership position
• Strong judgment in establishing work assignments in the area of responsibility and in the selection and interpretation of data
• Ability to delegate and motivate
• Excellent computer skills including spreadsheets, databases and word processing
• Strong mathematical and logical skills
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English
• Preferred experience with SAP ERP.
*Multi-language capability is desirable
