Group International Tax & Projects Manager

About The Role:


We’re looking for a talented Group International Tax & Projects Manager to join our high-performing Group Tax team within the wider Group Finance department at Next. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in managing the Group’s international tax affairs and leading strategic tax projects.

Reporting to the Head of Tax, you’ll work closely with teams across Finance, Indirect Tax, and Customs to ensure our global tax compliance remains robust, efficient, and future-ready.

 

What you’ll be doing:

 

Develop, implement and maintain global transfer pricing policies and documentation, including intercompany agreements.

 Manage international tax audits and defend positions with overseas tax authorities.

 Lead the Group’s Pillar 2 compliance and reporting process.

 Advise on tax implications of international business expansion.

 Monitor global tax developments and assess their impact on the Group.

 Identify opportunities to leverage technology and drive process improvements within the tax function.

 Support the tax aspects of our finance modernisation project.

 Enhance data collection and analysis across tax reporting processes.

 Support the Head of Tax in managing Group tax risks, governance, and compliance frameworks (including SAO, CCO and global tax policy initiatives).

 Provide ad hoc tax support across the Group as required.

 

About You:

 

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, ambitious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You’ll be confident engaging with stakeholders across all levels of the business and have the technical expertise to navigate complex international tax matters.

 

You’ll bring:

 

Professional qualification (CTA or equivalent: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) with at least 5+ years’ post-qualification experience.

 Strong technical skills and analytical ability, with keen attention to detail.

 Experience interpreting new tax legislation and assessing its business impact.

 Experience of dealing with Customs Duties (desirable).

 

Experience dealing with Transfer Pricing (desirable).

 

Retail sector experience is an advantage, but not essential.

 Excellent communication and business partnering skills, able to explain complex issues clearly to non-tax audiences.

 A proactive, hands-on approach and a desire to make an impact.
