Group Creative Director, CRM
**MUST be located in Detroit**
We are seeking an experienced Detroit or Metro-Detroit based Group Creative Director (Art Director background) to join our Promotions, Loyalty and Messaging team at Merkle. You will create digital-first, data-driven work across messaging channels including email, push, in-app experiences, loyalty-led experiential promotions and gamification while satisfying the branding requirements of our clients.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of experience in UI design or Copywriting with a proven track record of leading Fortune 500 client relationships and projects, creating innovative and consumer-first experiences, and driving creative excellence. This role is hands on, requires exceptional people management skills and creative direction across copywriting, art direction, motion design and user experience. You will lead teams and inspire them to excel beyond the brief an innovate at the speed of consumer behavior and technology evolution.
Must have messaging experience and thought leadership to help our clients navigate the digital messaging landscape through platform knowledge, best practices, and the power of storytelling. QSR experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
Work with the team to produce best-in-class experiences across CRM channels – email, SMS, MMS, Push integrated with experiential promotions, gamification and loyalty programsLead the creation of email custom design systems as well as utilize and scale existing client design systemsSupport creative work partnered with Strategy and Analytics teams using all available insights including customer feedback, quantitative data and usability findingsWork with the cross-functional teams and leaders to ensure user adoption and client satisfactionBe a trusted creative voice for your accounts and develop good relationships with your clientsDemonstrate to clients that you understand their challenges and respond to their creative and strategic requirementsYou'll mentor direct reports and create a supportive culture of collaborationYou'll oversee creative choices, relate to messaging strategies, elevate the quality of the work, and meet client objectives while achieving our financial objectivesYou'll be a go-to client-facing creative voice, nurture client relationships, present and sell creative concepts, and be day-to-day leadership between client and creative teamsQualifications
15+ years of experience or equivalent experience5+ years' experience in a creative leadership capacityBachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, digital design, copywriting or related fieldExperience utilizing a variety of technology platforms and media channels (ESPs such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Braze, Creative collaboration software such as Figma)Understanding of Experience Design and the role creative plays in achieving its outcomesA portfolio with exemplifying excellent compelling ideas, and solid usabilityDigital, interactive and customer experience agency or consultancy experience desiredStrong interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate client meetings and lead presentationsStrong team leadership and mentoring skills; able to inspire collaborationKnowledge Email Service Providers (ESPs – i.e. Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze) as well as Creative collaboration software such as FigmaGenuine passion and excitement for consumer engagement and desire to create specific brand outcomesAdditional Information
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $136,000 - $219,650. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
