Job Description

Join a dynamic team dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the quality of athletic fields and grounds at a prestigious NCAA Division I institution. This role involves overseeing the care, maintenance, and renovation of intercollegiate athletic fields on the University’s River Campus, while also assisting with the main campus grounds.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement plans, policies, and procedures for the successful maintenance of all athletic fields and grounds on River Campus.Collaborate with the Athletic Field Manager and Facilities Services managers to develop and manage the budget for field maintenance equipment and supplies.Purchase, maintain, and manage inventory of field maintenance equipment and supplies for River Campus.Manage mowing and irrigation systems on the University River Campus.Monitor and manage all riparian areas.Monitor and assess tree maintenance on property, ensuring no negative impact on construction or field maintenance.Collaborate with varsity coaches to determine optimal playing conditions for each team and execute plans to achieve those conditions.Ensure adherence to relevant regulations, guidelines, and standards for NCAA Division I athletic fields.Collaborate with Recreational Services to determine optimal field conditions for club and intramural practices and competitions.Manage and coordinate the work of technical consultants and/or contractors.Supervise and train seasonal and/or student employees, including hiring processes, setting expectations, departmental communications, training, development, mentorship, performance management, evaluations, and disciplinary processes.

Essential Skills

Superior attention to detail.Strong customer service orientation.Ability to read, understand, and carry out labels, directions, and work orders.Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to meet job requirements.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions in a sequence or with scheduled work activities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in athletics or grounds maintenance is a plus.Familiarity with NCAA regulations and standards is beneficial.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.07 - $23.07/hr.
