Purpose of the Role

Are you passionate about maintaining outdoor spaces and creating safe, clean, and functional environments? BGIS is looking for a Grounds Specialist to help maintain the external areas of our managed sites. This hands-on role is essential to ensuring our grounds reflect the operational excellence our clients expect. 

Key Responsibilities

Mow lawns, weed, spray, prune, brush cut, mulch, and complete minor landscaping tasks Keep pathways, signage, and outdoor common areas clean and well-maintained Assist with light maintenance such as pressure washing, painting, and basic building repairs Support trades teams during peak periods or as required Perform routine care, cleaning, and servicing of grounds tools and equipment Use chemicals and tools safely and responsibly, targeting zero incidents Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, tenants, subcontractors, and colleagues Communicate clearly and contribute to a supportive, team-focused environment Help with tree pruning, maintenance, and removals under supervision or with contractors

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

Hands-on experience in grounds or facilities maintenance Confident in safe chemical handling and spraying Strong time management and ability to work independently Good communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable:

Background in facilities management or military environments Arborist experience or an interest in tree care Qualifications in landscaping, horticulture, or general maintenance trades Understanding of OH&S and environmental compliance standards
