This full-time position is located at RTI Billeting at the Clay National Guard Center and is scheduled to work 40 hours Monday through Friday, working weekends as necessary.
The Grounds Maintenance Technician performs routine and preventative landscaping activities on the Clay National Guard Center.
Landscaping Responsibilities-Primary
+ Mow grass, trim hedges and trees, weed eat, lay pine straw and mulch;
+ Operate and utilize power mowers (push, riding, and zero-turn);
+ Operate two-cycle equipment and hand tools;
+ Apply herbicides and pesticides to treat insects, weeds, parking lots, and fence lines;
+ May plant grass, shrubs, and trees;
+ Must be able to maintain and account for tools and equipment;
+ Collect trash and debris located throughout the grounds at CNGC;
+ Perform preventative maintenance on all grounds equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, golf-cart engines);
+ Assist maintenance supervisor during down time due to weather or other circumstances;
+ Other duties as assigned.
Agency Specific Qualifications and/or Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to those applicants that meet the minimum qualifications and also have one year of related experience.
The selected applicant must meet the following standards:
1. Eligible to work in the U.S.
2. Possession of a valid driver's license
3. Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
4. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (subject to random testing post hire).
5. Must pass a pre-employment background check (which includes criminal records check, driver's history and verification of work history) and a post-hire federal background investigation.
