Main responsibilities:

Direct the operation of the Grocery Department (including Frozen, Dairy & Liquor/Beer). Supervise and train department personnel. Manage ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, stocking, and merchandising. Champion customer service programs and resolve customer complaints effectively. Implement company merchandising policies and seasonal sales plans. Control shrink and prevent sale of out-of-code products. Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and security policies. Open and close the store, potential to act as Store Director in their absence. Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, reporting, and supervising. Maintain accurate accounting of sales and cash register operations.

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

Soft skills: 

Friendly and courteous demeanor. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain composure under pressure and handle interruptions. Effective communication (written and oral). Initiative and problem-solving mindset

Competencies: 

Customer service excellence. Team management and development. Analytical ability for planning and decision-making. Compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Knowledge:

Retail operations and merchandising practices. Employment laws and workplace policies. State and federal regulations. Loss prevention and scanning procedures. Product variety, perishability, and inventory control.

Abilities:

Operate and train others on cash registers and ordering equipment. Implement emergency procedures for equipment/software malfunctions. Stand and walk for long periods; lift up to 80 lbs. Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Handle administrative details and make hiring/disciplinary recommendations. Ability to work in varying temperatures (coolers, freezers, loading areas).
