Main responsibilities:

Direct the operation of the Grocery Department (including Frozen, Dairy & Liquor/Beer), supervising and training personnel. Manage ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, stocking, and merchandising duties. Champion customer service programs and resolve customer complaints effectively. Control shrink and ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and security policies. Prepare work plans for night stockers and implement price changes. Open and close the store; act as backup checker and assist with front-end functions. Ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements. Oversee store operations in the absence of the Store Director and Assistant Store Director.

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

Soft skills: 

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communication. Ability to maintain composure under pressure and resolve conflicts. Customer-focused and courteous. Initiative and adaptability.

Competencies:

Team management and development. Problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to plan, organize, and execute operational objectives. Knowledge of merchandising and loss prevention.

Knowledge: 

Retail operations and grocery merchandising. Employment laws and workplace practices. State and federal regulations. Basic mathematics, weights, and measures. Product variety, location, and perishability.

Abilities: 

Operate and train others on cash registers and ordering equipment. Implement emergency procedures. Stand and walk for long periods; lift up to 80 lbs. Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Other requirements: 

Compliance with company policies (attendance, grooming, dress code). Ability to work in varying temperatures (coolers, freezers, loading areas).
