Grinder A Shift
Adecco is currently seeking Grinders in Rochester, NY. To be considered for this Grinder position responsible for setting up and running a variety of grinders while maintaining production efficiency and high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, experience working with close tolerances and delicate parts, and the ability to perform in-process inspections to ensure precision. This role is key in supporting production goals while upholding our company’s values of quality and safety. **Duties and Responsibilities** + Set up, adjust, and operate reciprocating or rotary wheel table-type surface grinders, often running more than one machine at a time. + Ensure work meets exacting tolerances, accounting for temperature changes and material aging. + Perform necessary shop math and calculations to complete assigned tasks accurately. + Identify, install, and maintain appropriate tooling for maximum efficiency. + Conduct routine cleaning of machines and coolant tanks. + Perform in-process inspections to maintain quality standards. + Follow all established company policies and safety guidelines. + Complete other tasks as assigned to support production operations. **Qualifications** + High school diploma or GED required. + 2–4 years of grinding experience. + Proficient in operating surface, cylindrical, Blanchard, centerless, and form grinders. + Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, indicators, calipers, Indi-square). + Strong blueprint reading skills with the ability to hold tolerances of ±0.0001” (dimensional, parallel, perpendicular, flatness). + Experience with G & M code programming. + Ability to true-up grinding wheels and work with hard materials such as glass, ceramics, and carbides. + Physically able to sit, stand, or walk for long periods and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds Click apply to be considered for this Grinder position in Rochester, NY! **Pay Details:** $20.00 to $25.00 per week Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
