Job Description
The Greenhouse Technician will be responsible for daily plant care activities in a greenhouse setting. This includes tasks such as seeding, pollinating, transplanting, watering, harvesting, and handling seeds for crops like corn, soybean, wheat, and others. Additionally, the role involves collecting plant tissue samples for laboratory analysis while maintaining sample identity and storage conditions.
Responsibilities
Perform daily care for greenhouse plants, including seeding, pollinating, transplanting, watering, and harvesting.Handle seeds for various crops such as corn, soybean, and wheat.Collect and store small samples of plant tissue, ensuring accurate delivery for laboratory analysis.Maintain the identity of thousands of samples while ensuring proper storage conditions.Assist with experimental activities, including data collection and record maintenance.Conduct routine greenhouse sanitation tasks, such as discarding regulated materials, cleaning pots and containers, and sanitizing rooms.Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.Preferred candidates will have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Plant Genetics, or Agronomy.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
