Our client, a leader in agricultural research and innovation, is seeking a Greenhouse Molecular Lab Technician to join their team. As a Greenhouse Molecular Lab Technician, you will be part of the Controlled Environments Team supporting research and development efforts. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in an agriculture, horticulture, plant physiology, molecular biology or related field with 3+ years of related experience.
**Job Title:** Greenhouse Molecular Lab Technician
**Location:** Johnston, IA
**Shift:** 7:30AM - 4:00PM Monday-Friday
**What's the Job?**
+ Assist with tissue sampling, seeding, transplanting, and data collection for research projects.
+ Prepare and store plant tissue samples, ensuring proper identification and storage conditions.
+ Support routine greenhouse activities, including plant care for crops like corn, soybean, and wheat.
+ Perform sanitation and maintenance tasks to uphold a clean and safe work environment.
+ Maintain accurate records of experiments and sample data to support ongoing research efforts.
**What's Needed?**
+ High school diploma or GED required; a degree in agriculture, horticulture, plant physiology, molecular biology, or related field is preferred.
+ Ability to pay close attention to detail and follow safety and operational protocols.
+ Strong organizational and communication skills, with a positive attitude and self-motivation.
+ Basic computer skills, including MS Office programs, and ability to learn research software.
+ Physical ability to stand and sit for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and work in a warm, humid greenhouse environment.
