Green Coffee Hander
**Job Title: Green Coffee Handler** **Job Description** This role enhances people's day by operating and maintaining our green coffee silo system equipment. You will support all aspects of the roasting department with an emphasis on green coffee receiving, loading, and staging. You will maintain the work area by participating in the continuous improvement and good manufacturing housekeeping practices established at the roasting facility, following established procedures and safety guidelines. **Responsibilities** + Operate green bean receiving, loading, and staging systems in support of the roasting team. + Assist the roasting team with start-up and shutdown standard operating procedures (SOPs) of all equipment. + Operate forklifts to unload trucks and move equipment and supplies. + Participate in Quality Control programs and tasks. + Perform tasks related to inventory accounting and data entry using software including MPE, Excel, and Google Docs. + Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning tasks for all green coffee systems and roasting-related equipment. + Conduct daily documented cleaning of machinery and work area following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). + Report maintenance issues to the supervisor. + Ensure compliance with HACCP, Cal/OSHA, FSMA, and all food and worker safety processes, procedures, regulations, and sustainability compliance programs. + Engage in continuous improvement and 5S projects. **Essential Skills** + 1-2 years of experience working in an industrial setting. + Ability to repetitively lift 75 pounds of free weight. + Understanding of basic mechanical principles with the ability to read and assimilate information from equipment technical manuals, system operations diagrams, and schematic drawings. + Basic math skills for production planning and inventory calculations. + Flexibility to schedule changes to meet demands of a growing and dynamic production schedule. + Ability to maintain attention to detail while completing repetitive tasks to ensure accuracy of all quantities of products received and processed. + Strong command of the English language, both verbal and written. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + ServSafe Food Handler certification and forklift experience are a plus. **Why Work Here?** When you join our team, we enhance your days through our benefits and support programs – from medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), commuter benefits, mental health support, holiday pay, vacation and sick time to team member discounts, free drinks and beans, fun swag, and opportunities for growth and advancement. The team consists of about 30-40 members, depending on attendance, and every role has a purpose. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oakland, CA. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
