Graphic Designer - 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract
**About the Role:** **Grade Level (for internal use):** 09 **The Team:** S&P Global Ratings Editorial team consists of about 100 staff globally and is part of the Ratings Operations division. As part of this team, you will work closely with designers, editors, and analysts globally to produce graphics that will appear in S&P Global Ratings' research. We operate in an exciting, diverse, and dynamic environment and we are committed to putting our people first. We are seeking a graphic designer to join S&P Global Ratings’ editorial group in Asia-Pacific for 12 months to cover maternity leave, based in either Melbourne or Sydney. You will work as part of a global team to design and produce reports, data visualizations, infographics, and other digital assets for publication across a range of websites. **The Impact:** Your work will be critical to S&P Global Ratings' mission to provide transparency and accountability to financial markets. The quality and accuracy of our credit opinions are essential to our reputation as the foremost provider of market intelligence. You will help showcase this to a broad audience, clarifying deep insights by making them easy to understand at a glance for our readers. **What You Stand to Gain:** + You will work in a fast-paced, exciting environment. + You will collaborate with a global team of content creators at the forefront of next-generation publishing. + You will gain wide geographical exposure by working on assignments with analytical and editorial colleagues around the world. + You will accelerate your career through continuous learning opportunities, including developing your digital content skills and subject matter expertise. **Responsibilities:** + Conceptualize, design, and produce data visualizations, infographics, social media images, and other digital assets to support our research and insights publications. + Page layout, design, and desktop publishing for a range of report formats. + Ensure design outputs conform to global standards in terms of format, house style, and brand specifications. + Collaborate with editors and authors to enhance the customer experience while adhering to design and visualization best practices. + Project manage design jobs from submission through to publication. + Act as an internal brand advocate across design and publishing. + Apply impeccable attention to detail and workflow processes to ensure error-free publication under tight deadlines. **What We’re Looking For:** Basic Required Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in graphic design, multimedia, data journalism, visual communications, or a related discipline. + Proven design ability, with a minimum of two years' experience in a relevant field. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative suite, particularly Illustrator, PhotoShop, and InDesign. + Demonstrable interest and knowledge of financial data topics, or willingness to learn. + Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. + Good grasp of mathematical and data analysis concepts, including an ability to process data using Microsoft Excel.
