Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Chief Development Officer the Grants Manager is responsible for identifying opportunities and working with internal customers and external partners to develop funding proposals for gifts and grants from foundations, organizations, corporations, and government entities. The Grants Manager is charged with the responsibility of identifying both programmatic and capital needs in coordination with leadership at Trinity Health Muskegon. The position is responsible for the research, identification, development, writing, tracking, and stewardship of funding proposals in support of Trinity Health Muskegon. Work will be focused on Trinity Health Muskegon priorities. Will work with internal staff to shape programs and proposals. Will work closely with the program principal investigators as necessary to design, develop and write proposals.
What the Grants Manager will need:
Bachelor's degree or related experience with emphasis on writing; preferably in journalism, communications, marketing, public administration, public health, political science, or related field.At least three years of experience in grant writing or grant making for a public or private entity, in journalism or communications, or related field,Five or more years of experience preferred in grant writing or grant making for a public or private entity with demonstrated record of funding success.What the Grants Manager will do:
Develops and implements an annual plan designed to survey opportunities and capture funding for Trinity Health Muskegon priorities and needs. Collaborates with appropriate internal staff to shape fundable projects and to develop proposals that match Trinity Health Muskegon priorities with external funding opportunities.Identifies and evaluates opportunities in keeping with Trinity Health Muskegon values and resources.Leads the drafting, review, assembly and submission of proposals and stewardship reports to foundations and other grant-making organizations, persuasively communicating the organization's mission and programs to potential funders.Performs prospect research, both internally and externally, on grant opportunities to evaluate prospects and document these opportunities for new and past submissions. Uses a wide variety of print and electronic reference sources to scan for upcoming funding opportunities and to research funder history, interests, grant ranges, application process, etc.,Actively shares information with appropriate Trinity Health Muskegon leadership about funding opportunities and potential matches with Trinity Health Muskegon priorities.Our Commitment
