You will be required to give Metallurgical/Operational support but not limited to the following:.
Conduct Flotation test works (Geo-Met) for ore classification by mineral resource team (Geologists).
Learn how to maintain metallurgical accounting records, daily generation of metallurgical accounting reports on time and accurately including management of calibration of measuring instruments.
Learn all stages of the metallurgical process to allow adjustments to process controls parameters to enhance plant performance. Responsible for ball charge and reagents consumptions on the Plant.
Assist in executing metallurgical investigative test works in the lab and provide answers for both poor and good performance on the Plant. Learn TSF and Water (IX Plant) treatment operations.
Responsible for reagents testing of collectors, Frothier, Flocculants and depressants to establish the most suitable reagent and optimum dosage for the ore being treated.
Learn how to carry out flotation test to determine maximum copper concentrate grade and copper in final tailings achievable for a given ore prior to feeding the Plant and advise mining team accordingly
Learn all crushing operations and conduct crusher gap setting measurements according to achieve required crusher product size. In-depth understanding of gearless mills and flotation will be required.
Graduate Metallurgist will undergo rotations under Metallurgy and Operations sections to develop capacity in all areas and expected to contribute positively to meet production set targets.
On completion of each section, the Graduate will operate as a metallurgist for a minimum of 6 months in each section. He will be monitored and reviewed by the senior Metallurgist.
Assist to check that (ISA) are in perfect working order. Calibration sampling to be done to generate data base for prevailing mineralogy and perform regression analysis to apply new equations.
Identify and execute projects to improve Plant performance.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
Minimum of Degree in Metallurgy or Mineral Processing or Chemical Engineering.
Knowledge of computers, Microsoft office package and power point (Excel & Word processing)
Good communication skills.
Willingness to learn and adaptable.
Exposure to working and management of Instream Analysers will be an added advantage.
