Graduate Intern, Modeling, Chief Investment Office (CIO) (Non-Campus)

Position Overview

The CIO office is looking to hire a Graduate intern for its Modeling team. The team develops models for investment portfolio management (IPM) and balance sheet interest rate risk (IRR) management. These include models for mortgage default and prepayments, interest rate propagation and rates and balances for deposits. The models are used to measure and manage risk as well as for relative value assessment.
These models are key to managing interest rate risk as well as positioning PNCs balance sheet to meet earnings objectives. The candidate will get a deep understanding of fixed-income instruments as well as bank asset liability management.
The position is based in New York City and is fully in office.

Job Responsibilities:
As an intern, the candidate will participate in the many activities of the modeling team. These include:
- Monitoring model performance to identify improvements as needed
- Conducting research to develop new models as well as to enhance model performance monitoring
- Implementing models in technology systems to ensure that the models can be executed reliably

Requirements
Education
- Masters/Phd level training in Economics/Finance. Phd level training will enhance candidacy
- Strong coursework in capital markets, fixed income and empirical methods for economics and finance
- Technical training in programming languages will enhance candidacy


Other
- Experience with doing independent empirical research. Publications will enhance candidacy
- Interest in financial markets
- Strong business communication skills – writing and speaking

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $100,000.00 – $170,000.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education.
