As a Control and Instrument Graduate, you will be supported through a development programme designed to build both your technical capability and professional confidence. We provide:
As a Graduate Control and Instrumentation Engineer, you will gain exposure to multiple stages of the project lifecycle, developing practical, hands on experience alongside experienced engineers. Your work may include involvement in:
Control system design – PLC, DCS and SIS specification, control philosophies, cause & effect diagrams, and system architecture development. Instrumentation engineering – Instrument selection, datasheets, hook ups, installation design, and commissioning support. Functional safety – Participation in HAZOPs and SIL studies, and alarm management.In addition to traditional oil, gas and industrial projects, you can expect to contribute to Wood’s expanding portfolio of energy transition and low carbon developments, including:
Carbon Capture: Control and instrumentation design for compression, transport and sequestration facilities, from concept development through to detailed engineering. Hydrogen: blue hydrogen (w/CCS), green hydrogen, ammonia/hydrogen economy innovation. Future of hydrocarbons: adapting existing facilities and designing ambitious new projects, to produce the next generation of lower carbon fuels and chemicals.We are seeking graduates who enjoy problem solving / trouble-shooting, detailed analysis, willing to embrace new ideas, and most importantly; take on assignments where the approach or solution isn’t known at the outset.
