Business Unit Overview:
The mission of Global Product Solutions (“GPS”) is to bring the right products and solutions, in the right way, at the right time to help our clients meet their goals. The team drives innovation in new products and solutions, curates and commercializes our product lineup across client channels, and generates exceptional insights to help clients optimize portfolios.
Role Overview:
Professionals within the GPS ETF Product Team are responsible for delivering, managing, and commercializing iShares investment vehicles that are relevant to our clients. The ETF Product specialist oversees the local product range and platform, conducts product analysis, develops collateral, collaborates with ETF sales teams, and supports the commercialization of products available for local distribution.
In addition to working closely with ETF sales and global GPS colleagues, the role involves close collaboration with partner groups such as Marketing, Capital Markets, Portfolio Managers, Corporate Communications, Strategic Product Management, Operations, and Technology teams. The role also engages with external stakeholders, including index providers and trust banks, to ensure the efficient operation of the business and to help drive ETF growth in Japan.
Core responsibilities:
Support sales and distribution efforts by providing technical ETF expertise.
Participate in client meetings as a product specialist; contribute to marketing strategy, develop and maintain marketing materials for ETFs.
Conduct and deliver product analysis independently or in collaboration with internal partners to provide high-quality solutions.
Coordinate regionally and globally by partnering with product consulting teammates across markets, leveraging their expertise to deliver client solutions and define local product strategy.
Support product development & range management efforts, including fund design, launches, repositionings, and other changes, with strong project management and intellectual rigor across diverse client segments and asset classes.
Conduct market research to assess fund viability, client suitability, competitive landscape, pricing, and to identify both current and potential client needs.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in the investment industry or a related field.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently or collaboratively, depending on the situation. Comfort with tight deadlines and multitasking is essential. This role offers the opportunity to be a key contributor in a strategic and dynamic environment, with exposure to a wide range of new product ideas and business processes, leveraging BlackRock’s local and global resources.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple functions, geographies, and stakeholders.
High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Fluency in both Japanese and English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
A strong team player with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across the organization.
Knowledge or experience with ETFs is preferred but not required.
