HP Inc. is seeking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Government Affairs & Public Policy Manager to join our team and lead our efforts in navigating the complex landscape of EU technology policy. This role is pivotal for shaping the future of our company's engagement with regulatory and legislative processes within the European Union. Reporting to the VP and Head of GA&PP for the European, Middle East and African Markets, the GA&PP Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to influence EU technology policy, ensuring that our company's voice is heard in relevant regulatory and legislative discussions. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, industry partners, and policymakers to drive our public policy agenda and advocate for regulations that foster innovation while protecting consumer interests.
The role involves occasional travel.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
Policy Analysis and Advocacy: Monitor and analyze EU policy developments, propose strategic responses, and engage with policymakers to advocate for favorable outcomes for our company.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry associations, and NGOs. Ensure our company's interests are well-represented in various forums. Participate proactively.
Public Policy Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive public policy strategies that align with our business objectives. Identify opportunities for proactive engagement and influence in policy discussions.
Communications and Outreach: Prepare policy briefs, position papers, and other communication materials to articulate our policy positions effectively. Represent the company at conferences, workshops, and public forums.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with legal, marketing, and product teams to ensure alignment and coordination on policy matters. Facilitate internal discussions and provide regular updates on policy developments. Ensure knowledge and best practices are shared with GA&PP colleagues in the region.
Supported by our consultants, the new employee may organize/participate in round tables, panel discussions.
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
A bachelor's degree in public policy, law, political science, or a related field is required. An advanced degree (JD, MBA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or a related field, with a focus on technology policy within the EU. Experience working in or with EU institutions is a plus.
Outstanding organizational abilities, in particular, the capacity to manage several different workstreams at one time and the proactivity to drive work programs forward.
Ability to translate technical messaging into compelling policy recommendations.
Proven ability to implement policy engagement strategies to influence policy positions by developing and cultivating partnerships.
Exceptional written and oral communications skills and a proven track record of producing high quality content and materials.
A team player with the curiosity and intellectual drive to learn. Attention to detail.
Exceptional interpersonal skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, multinational environment. Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
Fluent in English and Italian (both written and spoken). A third working language will be an advantage.
