Governance Manager Market Intelligence
About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 11 The Team: S&P Global is seeking a Governance Manager to join our Legal, Governance and Compliance Team for the S&P Global Market Intelligence (SPGMI) division. As a Governance Manager, Market Intelligence you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our Governance Program at Market Intelligence is effective and aligned with best practices. Responsibilities and Impact: Impact: Reporting directly to the Head of Governance, you will directly influence the implementation and direction of our governance strategy and culture within the division. Collaborating closely with SPGMI business, commercial, legal and risk stakeholders, you will support the SPGMI business by helping to establish and implement key governance processes and procedure around SPGMI’s products and market engagement. Responsibilities: In this role, you will: Help to formulate and drive SPGMI’s inter and intra-divisional governance operating model strategy in partnership with other stakeholders (including business, risk, compliance, and other divisions), including to: help the business develop consistent best of breed policies, procedures and best practices, including methodologies; identify and manage conflicts of interest; improving transparency Promote a consistent and transparent governance strategy for key SPGMI product offerings within S&P Global and externally Identify gaps and duplicative processes to help streamline and optimize business processes that drive product execution Assist in the execution of approved governance strategies across SPGMI and the broader enterprise where appropriate Liaise directly with S&P Global’s legal, compliance, risk and government affairs teams and stay abreast of all relevant regulatory and legal developments effecting the operating model of S&P Global’s businesses Provide SPGMI management with information and intelligence needed to identify and take informed, calculated risks and make recommendations on methods for business, legal and regulatory risk mitigation What We’re Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications: 8+ years’ proven experience in a legal (highly preferred), or compliance or risk role within the financial services industry Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, law or other finance related discipline; advanced degree such as JD/MBA highly preferred Knowledge and familiarity with financial regulations Experience working for a large global organization with numerous stakeholders Motivated self-starter who is excellent at building relationships and driving matters forward in a collaborative matter Problem-solver capable of working without close supervision or daily guidance; diligent and attentive to details; able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure Demonstrated ability to manage a variety of competing priorities and time sensitive projects simultaneously Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to address complex matters and coordinate amongst stakeholders Ability to identify risks and propose potential pathways to remediation / mitigation Strong ethics, integrity and the ability to stand firm on issues independently What’s In It For You?
