Governance & Enablement Officer

As part of our team in Bucharest, you’ll be surrounded by bright minds and keen collaborators as you apply passion to work that will compel our audience to choose IBM. **Your role and responsibilities** The Marketing, Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility Organization’s Data, AI and Technology Governance team has a critical mission to ensure that our activities are compliant with AI ethics and data privacy laws, as well as corporate polices. The team is focused on building and improving comprehensive frameworks and making sure that MCC’s systems, platforms, and processes are designed and executed with data privacy, AI ethics, and compliance in mind, while enabling the business to accomplish its goals effectively. As a Governance and Enablement officer for MCC, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance, driving operational excellence, and enabling teams through clear communication and enablement. Your primary responsibilities include: * Monitor team communications across channels and create stand-up agendas to address priorities efficiently. * Maintain and enhance the MCC Data, AI & Technology Governance w3 page, including working with team members to draft, publish, and update MCC Data, Privacy, and AI policies and guidelines. * Develop and execute a clear, consistent, and comprehensive communication strategy to support governance initiatives, and broader awareness efforts across teams and stakeholders. * Translate complex policy and compliance requirements into accessible enablement materials, including training sessions, toolkits, and guides. * Coordinate several risk and compliance processes, ensuring attention to detail, accurate documentation and audit readiness. * Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve existing governance frameworks, processes, and controls. * Identify and implement simplification and/or automation opportunities to optimize current team workflows and increase efficiency. * Support and advise on MCC’s portfolio within the corporate Integrated Governance Program which assesses privacy, AI and data and model compliance. * Serve as a trusted advisor to teams and leadership on governance, compliance, and enablement best practices. * Track, analyze, and report governance KPIs, highlighting trends and opportunities for improvement. **Required technical and professional expertise** * Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats. * Experience with enablement programs, including creating and publishing high-quality content for diverse audiences. * Demonstrated ability to own, optimize, and manage processes in dynamic, fast-changing, and sometimes ambiguous environments. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of thriving in agile and fast-paced settings. * Curiosity and the ability to respectfully question the status-quo. * Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing initiatives while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines. * Collaborative team player with the ability to build strong relationships and work effectively across cross-functional teams. **Preferred technical and professional experience** * 3+ years of experience in compliance, with demonstrated experience in data privacy (strong knowledge of global regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, LGPD preferred), data governance, technology governance, or related roles. * Knowledge of AI governance frameworks and ethical principles including emerging standards. * Familiarity with risk management frameworks and regulatory compliance requirements.
