Governance & Compliance Manager

Position Overview

This role is responsible for overseeing the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of data quality and governance frameworks. This role ensures that data management practices align with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations, supporting operational excellence and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

Data Quality Management

Develop, implement, and maintain data quality programs, including automated data quality checks and remediation processes.Monitor data quality metrics and scorecards, ensuring data is accurate, complete, and consistent with established standards.Lead regular data audits and reviews, identifying and addressing data discrepancies and exceptions.Coordinate with data owners and stewards to remediate data quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Establish and enforce data quality rules, both baseline and custom, in collaboration with operations and governance teams.

Data Governance

Oversee the establishment and maintenance of data governance models, including stewardship councils and business glossaries.Define and document data standards, policies, and procedures for data management across platforms and applications.Ensure clear roles and responsibilities for data ownership, stewardship, and quality management.Facilitate change management to drive adoption of data governance processes across the organization.

Audit and Compliance Risk Management

Ensure compliance with internal policies, client requirements, and applicable regulations related to data management.Complete vendor audit on time and sharing the report with concern team.Following with vendors to close the non-compliance on time.Applying for Registration Certificates (CLRA and S&E) and Amendments on time.Connections between lesioning officers and clients for audits by providing evidence required.Supporting internal and external audits by providing evidence of data quality and governance controls.Identify and mitigate risks associated with poor data quality, including operational inefficiencies and regulatory non-compliance.

Reporting and Continuous Improvement

Prepare and present regular reports on data quality performance, audit outcomes, and remediation progress to leadership.Lead continuous review and enhancement of data governance and quality management process in audits.

Qualifications and experience

Qualifications – Relevant Governance, Compliance and Risk qualifications.Experience – 5 – 10 years in related roles.Thorough understanding of Country Governance, Compliance

Awareness, Knowledge and Skill (as applicable) in role specific HSSE Competences. These include:

Working knowledge on Governance, Compliance and Risk qualifications.Ability to lead and influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve improved Governance, Compliance and Risk qualifications performance.Demonstrated evidence of Leadership Attributes and experience in working in a matrix organization,Be able to translate Governance, Compliance and Risk management initiatives into realistic, simple plans for the operations.Be able to work in a virtual multicultural team and work environment.Able to enforce compliance, highlight issues, resolve conflicts and push for Governance, Compliance and Risk Management improvements.Excellent communication, Training Skills and organizational skills.
