Position Title: Golf Smokehouse Grill Workers Job Posting Closing Date: ***OPEN UNTIL FILLED*** [Applications will be considered in the order they are received.] Provo City is hiring seasonal workers to serve in The Smokehouse grill at the Timpanogos Golf Course. These roles involved food handling and interacting with the public. Qualified, civic-minded individuals are encouraged to apply. Job Details What is the compensation? Pay Rate: $9.00 - $15.00 per hour, depending upon skill level and experience. What will I do? + Open and close The Smokehouse grill. + Manage all food operations. + Provide friendly customer service. + Assist in inventory management and ordering. + Prepare and record nightly deposits. + Assist with general upkeep and maintenance of the clubhouse. + Assist head and assistant professionals in daily tasks. + Assist with tournaments, outings, and events. + Assist other crew members as needed/directed. + Perform other related work as required. What do I need to apply? + Any training or experience that demonstrates an ability to perform the duties of the position. + Physical strength and agility to perform the work. + Valid, lawful driver license required at time of appointment. + Must obtain food handler’s permit upon hire. What are the hours and duration? Positions are for a fixed term from approximately February through December. Hours of operation are from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., Sunday through Saturday. Employees will work 5- to 6-hour shifts up to 40 hours per week. Actual schedule will vary throughout the season, including weekends and holidays, and will be coordinated with supervisor. What are the physical and environmental factors? This position requires standing for extended periods while performing cooking, cleaning, and cashier duties in a fast-paced food service environment. Frequent lifting and carrying of supplies or food items (up to 30+ lbs), working around hot surfaces, sharp objects, and potentially slippery floors. The role may include occasional outdoor work, exposure to temperature extremes, and working without regular breaks during peak times. This position also includes direct interaction with the public and may involve occasional high-stress or confrontational situations. What is the selection process? This position is open until filled and will be closed when sufficient, qualified applications to proceed with a competitive selection process have been received (at least seven days). Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration. If selected for hire, candidate will be required to pass a criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.
