Position Description: Nevada Gold Mines is looking for an Open Pit Maintenance Technician to join the Nevada Gold Mines team. 

 

Responsibilities:

Reporting to an Open Pit Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanic is responsible for the following.

Complete routine maintenance activities for the purpose of ensuring the availability and safe functioning of large mining, support equipment fleetsMaintain shop areas, tooling and service vehicles to ensure a clean and safe work environmentPerform daily pre-shift work inspections and participate in individual and group hazard identification processesPerform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Two (2) plus years of experience in maintenance of mobile, farm, trucking, aircraft, military or support equipment preferredBasic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics requiredAbility to work safely and effectively with minimal supervision requiredAbility to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people requiredExperience handling tires preferredAbility to accomplish strenuous physical labor under all weather conditions requiredLift at least 50 lbs. requiredProven safe work record with belief and value seen in courageous leadership model requiredAbility to be an initial team member in a growing, fast paced environment, and support team in attainment of safety, environmental, equipment protection and production goals with a proven safety record requiredHousekeeping standards are maintained to a high level requiredGood written and verbal communication skills required

Nevada Gold Mines is a joint venture between Barrick Gold Corporation (61.5%) and Newmont Goldcorp Corporation (38.5%), combining their significant assets across Nevada to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world and realize the full potential of these mines through synergies and best-in-class operational improvements.
