Led by the firm’s first Chief Marketing Officer, the Global Marketing function at Goldman Sachs is a unified horizontal organization, having come together to codify a business-critical function seen as core to the firm’s future growth. As such, GS has built out a data-and-technology enabled team of growth marketers, delivering value for the brand and the business. The organization consists of a number of key, senior-level COE roles in areas such as Brand Marketing and Content, as well as senior marketing leads for each of our key revenue businesses. Together, this team collaborates on a scaled and consistent approach to marketing the brand and its offerings. Within the Global Marketing function sits the Asset Management Marketing team, responsible for end-to-end marketing strategies and programs for the entirety of the business. Working across institutional and third-party wealth audiences to promote public markets, alternative and external investing strategies, the team leads messaging strategy, content creation, digital marketing, and marketing analytics.

 

Role Summary 
This Analyst will work on the event marketing team and play a key role in creating and executing a global event strategy to maximize the commercial value from flagship events and conference sponsorships. This includes helping develop best practices for the execution of sponsored conferences as well as working closely with global, regional, and local Marketing teams to execute conferences and events at a high standard. The Analyst will be responsible for coordinating with vendors, managing budget and working cross functionally to leverage marketing tactics that drive impact. In addition, the analyst will be responsible for data analysis and reporting on key metrics on an ongoing basis. 

This role will work across the Asset Management marketing team, strategically leveraging flagship events and sponsored conferences in support of the commercial objectives of the AM business. 

Position Responsibilities 

Safeguarding event processes and protocols: Implement templates, processes and protocols spanning pre-, during, and post-event activities to ensure that AM’s flagship events and sponsored conferences are consistently executed to the highest standard.Event marketing strategy: Support the development and execution of event marketing strategies to maximize commercial value, including showcasing brand, demonstrating expertise in strategically relevant capabilities, and maximizing client engagement opportunities for our client-facing teams. (Onsite) Event Support: Work closely with sales, marketing and conference organizers to align marketing efforts with business objectives. Support the deliverables of events and conferences, including invitations, registrations, branding, signage and amplification plans.Conference calendar: Maintain oversight of the sponsored conferences and events calendar an ensure its accuracy on an ongoing basis. Vendor management: Manage relationships with external vendors and agencies for the organization of conferences, ordering branded materials as well as help streamline processes for ordering give-aways and branded items across the marketing team. Measurement and reporting: Evaluation and reporting of event and sponsorship performance, demonstrating clear Marketing Return on Investment (MROI) metrics, and taking active steps to continually optimize commercial impact across the event portfolio. Ensuring the team receives the data, feedback and input needed for evaluation. Collateral: Collaborate with teams across AM Marketing to create compelling formats for event content, including emails, brochures, onsite surveys, digital posters etc.Risk management: Maintaining strict adherence to regulatory and procedural guidelines for all marketing activities including proactive management around gifts and entertainment, conflicts of interest, and anti-bribery. 

 

 

Qualifications 

§ Bachelor’s degree in business or related field

2+ years in a similar event marketing role within a comparable leading financial institutionGeneral knowledge and experience within the asset management industry: clients, products, regulations, competitors.Understanding of the various types of asset management clients and the role events and conferences play in growing the asset management business and deepening relationships with prospective and existing clients.Experience working across multiple stakeholders or functions managing conflicting opinions and problem solving to reach a solution. Strong analytical skills with experience using Excel and reporting dashboards. Exceptional attention to detail. Ability to work at varying speeds and under timeframe pressure and remain flexible. Team-orientated with a “can do” mentality. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS).
