Position Description
The Golden Sunlight Mine is hiring a Tailings Maintenance Operator to join their team! In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining the integrity, safety, and performance of one of our critical environmental and operational systems.
In this role, you won’t just monitor equipment—you’ll operate, maintain, and troubleshoot, the tailings facility. You’ll work outdoors and contribute to environmental protection efforts that ensure we meet the highest standards in mining.

Key Responsibilities
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the tailings delivery system, piping/pumping systems and reclaim systems.
Complete a thorough tailing facility inspection at least once during each scheduled shift. Complete the appropriate paperwork for inspections and safety interactions.
Report immediately all tailing facility slurry, solution, or chemical spills or releases outside of designated containment areas to the tailing’s supervisor or designer.
Monitor weather conditions and forecast high wind events so proper procedures can be followed to minimize dust events. Spray dust suppressant on the tailing’s facility.
Monitor water levels of dewatering systems.
Perform maintenance on dewatering pipelines and pumps.
Monitor and maintain the dewatering pumping and discharge facilities which include, but are not limited to wells, pipelines, flow meters and pressure gauges and responsible for accurate documentation of dewatering data.
Fuse HDPE Pipe, run an electrofusion machine.
Weld HDPE liner, weld patches for HDPE liner.
Maintain excellent housekeeping to ensure a safe and productive working environment.
Occasional overtime as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience operating and trouble-shooting pumps and piping problems preferred.
Basic Mechanical skills preferred.
Welding and fabrication skills preferred.
Experience operating equipment including the following: boom truck, forklift, telehandler, backhoe, excavator, Terragator, Terramac, grader preferred.
Ability to walk on uneven ground in all weather conditions required.
Ability to support work groups in attainment of safety, environmental, equipment protection and production goals with a proven safety record required.
Demonstrated ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation required.
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, follow instructions, and provide feedback is required.
Good written and verbal communication skills required.
Work well independently and in a team setting.
