The Genomic Medicine Unit (GMU) group at Sanofi is dedicated to the establishment of best-in-class platforms to support development of life-changing advanced gene therapy products, including recombinant AAV vectors and lipid nanoparticles products. We are seeking a motivated Co-op student to join our BioAnalytics Characterization group in the Genomic Medicine Unit. The BioAnalytics Characterization group uses advanced analytical techniques such as liquid chromatography mass spectrometry and biophysical analysis (AUC and DLS) for in-depth structural and functional characterization of AAV- and LNP-based gene therapy products in support of drug development, from pre-candidate selection through commercialization. This position will be located in our Waltham, MA site.

Main Responsibilities:
Provides assistance in the execution of routine experiments and analytical procedures according to detailed protocols. Works under active supervision.
Integrates, compiles, and tabulates data and reports results to supervisor.
Help maintain chemical/reagent inventory, MSDS and instruments.
Maintain sample inventory and receiving
Perform data transfer and back up
About You:
Basic Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or related life science field at an accredited college or university with plans to graduate by 2029
Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university throughout the duration of the co-op/internship
Must be able to relocate to the office location 225 Second Ave, Waltham, MA and work 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday, for the full duration of the co-op/internship
Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status does not require company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on laboratory experience on proteins/nucleotides
Knowledge/experience with general analytical techniques such as chromatography, mass spectrometry, and/or enzyme assay
Knowledge of protein, enzyme, DNA and adeno-associated virus
The candidate should be self-motivated, well organized and attending to detail.
The candidate should be good at Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
The candidate must be able to work well in a team environment and have good problem-solving skills.
