GMS Buyer
Job Title: GMS Buyer Location: Ewing, NJ (Hybrid) Type: Contract (3 months) Hours: Full-time/hybrid, M–F 8:30am–4:30pm Position Overview The GMS Buyer will support the financial operations of the manufacturing division by providing detailed cost analysis and reporting. This role involves monitoring and controlling cost structures, preparing cost reports, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize cost efficiency and support decision-making processes. Responsibilities + Cost Analysis & Reporting: Analyze manufacturing costs, including material, labor, and overhead, to provide accurate financial insights. + Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts aligned with company financial goals. + Variance Analysis: Compare actual costs against budgeted or standard costs and explain discrepancies. + Inventory Management: Monitor and evaluate inventory levels (raw materials, WIP, finished goods) to ensure accurate valuation and cost control. + Product Costing: Develop and maintain product cost models; identify opportunities for cost reduction. + Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for management review. + Process Improvement: Work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement cost efficiency improvements. + Compliance & Auditing: Ensure adherence to accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements; support audits. + System Management: Utilize ERP systems to manage and analyze cost data with accuracy and integrity. Requirements + Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred). + Experience: 3–5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. + Technical Skills: Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle preferred. + Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving ability with attention to detail and accuracy. + Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present complex financial data clearly. + Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. #M3- #LI- #DI- Ref: #558-Scientific System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, CM Access, TPGS, and MOUNTAIN, LTD., are leaders in delivering workforce solutions and integrated services across North America.
