As part of Piedmont Healthcares growing academic strategy, this new Internal Medicine Residency Program will be a cornerstone of physician workforce development across Georgia.

Position Overview

As the Founding Program Director, you will lead the design, accreditation, and launch of a new Internal Medicine Residency Program. You will build a culture of academic excellence, equity, and patient-centered care while maintaining clinical practice as a role model for trainees.

Key Responsibilities

Design and oversee implementation of the program curriculum and evaluation systemsLead recruitment and development of faculty and residentsEnsure ongoing compliance with ACGME standardsFoster a culture of professionalism, scholarship, and resident wellnessMaintain a clinical role in internal medicineCollaborate with system leaders to grow future fellowships

Minimum Qualifications

MD or DO from an accredited medical schoolBoard Certification in Internal MedicineEligibility for unrestricted Georgia medical licenseMinimum of three years of GME experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience developing or expanding residency programsStrong knowledge of ACGME accreditation and site visit processInterest in DEI, faculty mentorship, and scholarly innovation
