WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
As Director of Visual Merchandising for Retail Concepts and Cross-Channel Experiences, you will define and evolve Nike’s retail concept vision, shaping how consumers experience the brand across physical stores. You will translate brand and business strategy into concept frameworks and experience systems that can scale globally while remaining culturally relevant.
You will lead alignment with senior leadership and cross-functional partners, representing Retail in key decision forums and helping shape long-term priorities and direction for retail concepts and experiences. You will oversee the development of concept toolkits and evergreen systems, including retail concepts, visual experience guidelines, cross-channel frameworks, and playbooks that ensure cohesive execution across store formats, geographies, and channels.
A core focus of this role is designing connected journeys. You will work across Business, Merchandising, Design, and Marketing teams to ensure concepts are holistically integrated, creating seamless transitions between physical and digital storytelling, services, and product presentation.
You will also guide innovation and prototype development within Retail Labs and concept pilots, helping test, refine, and scale new fixtures, mannequins, presentation strategies, and storytelling that inform the future of Nike retail.
Finally, you will lead and develop a team of Managers, fostering a high-performance, forward-thinking culture through coaching, clarity, and empowerment. You will set the pace for excellence in retail concept development and cross-channel visual strategy.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
In this role, the leader operates at the center of a highly collaborative, global ecosystem. They partner closely with leaders and teams across Global and Geography organizations, serving as a connective leader who aligns vision, priorities, and execution across the retail ecosystem.
The role reports to the Senior Director of Global Visual Merchandising and works in close partnership with Business, Merchandising, Retail Marketing, Digital, and Design, ensuring retail concepts are integrated, consumer-led, and scalable across channels.
They also collaborate deeply with Geography teams, gaining insight into local consumer behaviors, marketplace dynamics, and competitive trends to ensure global concepts feel relevant, flexible, and impactful in every market.
WHAT YOU BRING
• 10+ years of experience in Visual Merchandising, Retail Design, Experience Design, or a related retail leadership role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
• Proven experience developing and scaling retail concepts or experience systems across multiple markets or regions.
• Strong background in complex, multi-channel retail environments, with experience connecting physical and digital consumer journeys.
• Demonstrated ability to think systemically, translating strategy into clear frameworks, tools, and playbooks that enable consistent execution.
• Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to influence strategy and drive alignment.
• Strong people leadership skills, with experience building, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 4–6 times per year.
