Job Description

This role focuses on implementing and managing international trade compliance activities within daily business operations. The Global Trade Compliance Associate conducts compliance assessments, supports export licensing and documentation, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that appropriate processes, procedures, and authorizations are in place. Acting as a strategic business partner, this position provides expert guidance on complex trade requirements and regulations, helps solve compliance-related challenges, and translates regulatory policies into practical solutions that support global growth and long-term business objectives.

Responsibilities

Conduct periodic logistics audits of ACE/AES filings to verify the accuracy and completeness of export documentation.Assist in the creation, delivery, and maintenance of new employee and annual trade compliance training programs.Collaborate in a timely and efficient manner with internal and external stakeholders on trade compliance topics and issues.Support the preparation and submission of export license applications, track application status, and maintain an export license database to meet record-keeping and audit requirements.Execute weekly audits of returned hardware to confirm proper Harmonized Tariff Codes and accurate valuation of duties and taxes.Work closely with technical experts to determine export jurisdiction and classification of technology and hardware under applicable regulations.Perform denied party screening and acceptance checks for international visitors and international travel.Participate in international business meetings to ensure adherence to applicable export policies, licenses, and internal business policies.Implement international trade compliance activities into daily business operations and ensure that appropriate controls are embedded in processes.Conduct compliance assessments and identify opportunities to improve trade compliance procedures and authorizations.Act as a strategic business partner by providing expert guidance on complex trade requirements and regulations to support global growth.Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and solve trade compliance problems and offer innovative, practical solutions.Translate regulatory policies into clear, actionable guidance that supports the organization’s long-term objectives.

Essential Skills

3+ years of ITAR/EAR logistics/compliance experienceTAAs and Deck Licensing ExperienceFamiliarity with BOX, SNAP-R, and DEX systems preferredAbility to conduct logistics audits of ACE/AES filings and export documentation.Ability to perform denied party screening for international visitors and travel.Experience determining export jurisdiction and classification of technology and hardware.Proficiency with SAP for data entry and trade compliance-related activities.Attention to detail in document control and record-keeping to satisfy audit and regulatory requirements.

Work Environment

The role offers flexibility with openness to on-site, hybrid, and possibly remote work arrangements, with a preference for candidates who can work on-site or in a hybrid model. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and technical experts, using systems such as SAP and, where applicable, platforms like BOX, SNAP-R, and DEX to support trade compliance processes. The environment emphasizes collaboration, strategic partnership with the business, and the integration of compliance activities into day-to-day operations to support global growth.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middle River, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.
