Global Structured Trade Finance -Associate
The area of Structured Trade Finance is specialized in developing sophisticated forms of financings to facilitate international trade, particularly those involving the exchange of goods or commodities. Structured Trade is crucial to promote international trade by providing financing and risk mitigation tools, such that businesses may engage in cross-border transactions with confidence, knowing that the financing structure is tailored to address these complexities and uncertainties inherent in global trade.
Our solutions aim to tackle strategic needs of our clients, leveraging on trade flows via mainly a number of products such as Export Prepayments, Borrowing Bases, Inventory Finance, Contract Monetisation, Aircraft Pre-Delivery Payments and Asset as a Service, but also out-of-the-box solutions tailored to special event-driven situations. Our offering is tied to the real economy, and while our sweet spot has always been the commodities space, the strategy is to diversify into other sectors, and specially support the delivery of the green transition/ambition. Objectives
Develop the Structured Trade franchise involving solutions such as prepayment, contract monetisation, borrowing base, etc. The role would have regular interaction with clients, Structured Trade teams, Trade Sales team and relationship managers in those regions.
Originate transactions jointly with the local ST teams and lead the structuring and execution of such transactions. Perform detailed due diligence of the underlying transactions and come up with ideas to enhance the structure of a proposed transaction.
Manage timeline and conversations with internal stakeholders (Risk, Legal, Middle Office, etc) to guarantee a smooth execution
Develop specialized sector expertise, being a key aspect to propose new ideas and gain client trust.
Product development. Identify new solutions to be added to our product suite and manage the structuring as well as internal approvals as required.
Our strategy also relies on the collaboration with other SCIB areas combining structured trade offering. Good management of these stakeholders is also crucial.
Experience
At least 4 years of accredited professional experience in Trade Finance, Structured Trade Finance or Project Finance. Previous experience in law firms or accounting consultancy firms are highly valued. International experience will be a plus.
Education
Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance – and additional Degree will be valued positively (i.e. Engineering, Law)
MBA (undertaking or finalized) will be a plus
Skills and Knowledge
Legal background and accounting experience will be positively valued
Proficient in spoken and written English and Spanish
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel and Power Point)
Team player, creative, work under tight timeline, problem solver
Other information
Job would require business trips to Asia and Latam
