Job Description

The Manager – Global Service Delivery Leader (SDL), CMD & Cash Applications is responsible for global process governance and service delivery execution across Customer Master Data and Cash Application processes. 

This role ensures accurate customer master data, timely and first-time-right cash application, and minimal unapplied and unidentified cash, supporting effective Billing and Cash & Collections outcomes. 

Operating within the global O2C framework, the role governs execution across delivery teams, drives standardization and automation, and partners closely with the Global SDLs for Billing and Cash & Collections to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes. 

Key Responsibilities 

1. Global Process Governance 

Govern global CMD and Cash Application processes in line with established O2C standards and policies. Ensure consistent execution of customer creation, modification, and maintenance processes across regions. Drive initiatives to reduce unapplied and unidentified cash and improve cash application accuracy. Act as the primary global process contact for CMD and Cash Applications. 

2. Service Delivery & Performance Management 

Manage day-to-day global service delivery across CMD and Cash Application teams. Monitor and report on KPIs including accuracy, timeliness, unapplied/unidentified balances, and rework. Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring data quality or cash application issues. Ensure effective handoffs and alignment with Billing and Cash & Collections teams. 

3. Stakeholder Collaboration 

Partner with Commercial, Billing, and Collections stakeholders to address upstream drivers impacting CMD and cash application quality. Support internal and customer escalations related to customer setup and payment application. Contribute to customer experience improvements through clean data and timely cash posting. 

4. Transformation, Automation & Continuous Improvement 

Support and execute automation and standardization initiatives across CMD and Cash Applications. Identify efficiency and quality improvement opportunities and support benefit realization. Partner with IT and transformation teams to enhance tools, workflows, and system integration. Maintain global process documentation, SOPs, and control frameworks. 

5. Controls, Risk & Compliance 

Ensure adherence to internal controls and audit requirements (including SOX) across CMD and Cash Application processes. Monitor operational risks related to data integrity and unapplied/unidentified cash. Coordinate compliance with regional statutory requirements in partnership with local finance teams. 

6. People Leadership 

Lead, coach, and develop team leads and associates across CMD and Cash Application teams. Drive workforce planning, cross-training, and capability development. Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement. 

 

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field; professional qualification preferred. 12–15+ years of experience in Order to Cash, with strong expertise in CMD and Cash Applications. Experience in global or multi-regional service delivery within GBS, shared services, or BPO environments. Solid understanding of customer payment methods, master data governance, and cash application processes. Hands-on experience with ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and automation tools.
