Job Summary:
As an Associate, Asset Management in our Commercial Real Estate team, you will support the Executive Director in managing a portfolio of loans and loan-on-loans secured by UK, European, and APAC real estate  financings. You will collaborate with asset management, middle office, credit, origination, and legal teams, serving as a key point of contact for day-to-day loan management. You will assist with financial modelling, tracking deliverables, managing significant loan events, and reviewing borrower information throughout the loan life-cycle, covering both income producing and development CRE loans.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Support the Executive Director in managing a portfolio of loans and loan-on-loans secured by UK, European, and APAC real estate loansCollaborate with loan originators, structurers, credit, middle office, and legal teams, reviewing finance documents and management informationServe as a point of contact for day-to-day management of each loan, both internally and with external stakeholdersAddress queries promptly and prepare recommendations for senior managementAssist in creating financial models, tracking deliverables, and managing significant loan eventsLiaise with borrowers, facility agents, and representatives to ensure timely and accurate reportingReview waiver and modification requests, analyse impacts, and prepare recommendations for approversReview draft transfers, waterfalls, redemption statements, and calculations for accuracyCoordinate with third-party advisors, borrowers, and lenders on development loan drawdowns and funding recommendationsProduce internal monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reportsManage book tasks such as review of P&L, balance sheet projections, and capital allocations

 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, business, or a related fieldProven experience in real estate lending or loan management, with a focus on finance or real estate sectorsExpertise in analysing complex financial data and creating detailed reportsProficiency in Excel and financial modellingExceptional organisational skills with a proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneouslyEffective communication skills, able to convey complex information to diverse audiencesCollaborative team player, able to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams and external partnersResilient and determined, able to deliver results in a fast-paced, high-pressure environmentSkilled in prioritising tasks and meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality

 

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills: 

Experience managing both income producing and development CRE loansExperience with asset management tasksStrong attention to detail and analytical thinkingAbility to prepare and deliver internal presentationsFamiliarity with loan-on-loan structures and cross-border real estate transactions preferableCommitment to delivering high-quality client serviceEnthusiasm for continuous learning and professional development

This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
