Global Product Environmental Compliance Manager

The Product Environmental Compliance (PEC) Engineer is responsible for leading Test & Measurement’s global product environmental compliance efforts and develop outstanding strategies to comply with established and evolving global environmental regulations impacting the company’s products including global chemical and substance regulations, directives impacting products throughout their lifecycle including end-of-life take-back, and sustainability initiatives. 

Develop the strategy and programs for the Test & Measurement (T&M) business group (National Instruments) in collaboration with product compliance and engineering teams to mitigate risk and support business objectives while driving PEC programs (e.g. RoHS, REACH, POPs, WEEE, Packaging, etc.)., including the following topics:  Materials Restrictions Laws such as EU RoHS, EU REACH, global RoHS, US TSCA, global PFAS, California Prop65 Waste Laws such as WEEE, Batteries, and Packaging CBAM Regulations  Deforestation Regulations Other relevant laws Develop and maintain knowledge of existing and evolving PEC regulations and directives, while representing T&M on Global PEC Steering teams and communicating with senior leadership. Guide the development of PEC programs, tools, systems, and processes, and provide training and assistance for their global implementation and adoption. Educate employees at varying levels in engineering, configuration management, product compliance, and trade compliance on the necessary requirements to meet existing and upcoming environmental compliance regulations.

Collaborate with legal, IT, supply chain and Enterprise PEC to successfully implement PEC programs within all of T&M.

Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials/Polymer Science, or related Eight plus (8+) years of related work experience. Focus on industrial product compliance with environmental regulatory requirements and a strong understanding of international product certification standards highly desirable Leadership experience with a focus on excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills, and ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization and in a multi-cultural environment Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Willingness to travel up to 10% globally to support PEC programs’ implementation
