Global Procurement Manager – Procurement Operations – Liquid Dairy
Overview Location: Must be local to Chicago, IL, Purchase, NY or Dallas, TX region. Role is hybrid with a minimum of 3 days in office. This role has full supply assurance ownership, forecasting, escalation and support for the category of Liquid Dairy within the Procurement Operations team supporting PepsiCo North America’s beverage business. This category includes $160MM in spend across multiple suppliers and multiple PepsiCo co-man manufacturing locations. The liquid dairy supply chain is extremely complex due to the nature of the product, short shelf life and transportation complexities. Requirements include: Key understanding of the complexities of the liquid dairy supply chain including shelf life, testing requirements, transportation, delivery, unloading, etc to ensure continuous supply. This role will be responsible for issue escalation and resolution required to keep manufacturing locations running per production plans. Position is part of the broader ingredients Procurement Operations team supporting across One North America. Responsibilities Develop understanding and playbook for managing the complex liquid dairy category within supply assurance. Properly communicate volume needs with suppliers with an understanding of total capacity of supplier base and needs of the plant locations. Build and Leverage deep understanding of plant operations, external supplier capabilities and Procurement Category strategies to drive supply assurance and create/implement process improvements. Prepare best practices playbook for alternative supply options when issues escalate. Be responsive and clear in communication through resolution of issues, providing regular updates to procurement and supply chain leadership. Ensure delivery of key financial KPIs for supply assurance areas of ownership. Partner with Operations/R&D/other functions to ensure key innovation projects launch successfully on time/within budgets. Development and deployment of benchmarking and reporting scorecards to enable supplier improvement plans and drive efficiencies Create and execute Business Continuity Plans to ensure continuous supply Regular communication on raw material supply needs and potential gaps. Align Business Continuity plans to enable Drive flawless innovation execution with procurement commercial readiness. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on any raw material quality issues Lead creation of new S&OPs Input into category strategies in partnership with Snr Manager to create future strategies bringing the internal customer’s perspective to ensure an end to end holistic strategy - gaining awareness of the overall Operational, Sustainability and Productivity commitments. Compensation & Benefits: The expected compensation range for this position is between $106,400 - $178,100. Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process. Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually. Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance or related field required ~7+ years of experience strategically sourcing ingredients or a similar category in a global FMCPG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) company Project management experience – especially managing multiple, high profile projects Procurement experience leading a category, sourcing, execution, business continuity planning, etc. Experience and knowledge of a supply chain operation is preferred Strong attention to detail and understanding of business prioritization Strong leadership skills Experience in contracting, risk management and strategy development and how this ties to supply chain operations Proven track record in developing relationships with stakeholders to problem-solve raw material supply issues Understanding how to operate in a matrix organization and ability to navigate and collaborate for success Exceptional communicator with strong oral, oral, presentation, and written skills; proven ability to articulate complex ideas to executive-level stakeholders. Ability to travel up to 20% in the future Additional Capabilities required to be successful: Navigating a matrix environment, Influence Management, Executive Maturity Main interactions within & outside organization: Within organization: Influencing and persuading cross-functional peers and leaders to support changes as needed to support business continuity or supply assurance requirements. This includes Supply Chain, R&D, Marketing, etc, various peers through VP/SVP level. Leading peers in other functions – Supply Chain, R&D, Finance, Marketing, Sales to drive projects forward and solve problems. Provide input to category leaders regarding supplier performance and pertinent supply updates (through Sr. Director+, VP+) External Interactions: Manage forecasting, escalations, business continuity, etc. with key supplier partners through Supplier Key Account Managers up through Supplier Sales, Operations, Quality, etc. VPs/CFOs.
