The Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) practice works with companies across the digital device, software, IT services, TV, publishing, information services, entertainment and telecom sectors to make sense of the unrelenting velocity of technological and consumer change they face. What You'll Do

As the Global Practice Management Senior Director (GPMSD), you will partner with the Global Practice Area Leader (PAL) and the TMT PA Leadership Team to define and deliver the Practice’s strategic agenda. You will turn vision into execution—driving initiatives, shaping robust processes, and ensuring strong operational performance across regions, sectors, and key business priorities.
 
You will act as the Practice’s “COO”, overseeing its three Regions; its three Sector businesses– including products, content and go-to-market; Vantage (Knowledge) - including IP/Assets/Tools; internal and external Marketing and Communications, People and Affiliation; and Finance/Commercial Excellence/ Planning.
 
The GPMSD is a core member of the global PA Leadership team and in charge of PA infrastructure, operating model and ensuring world class operations that deliver fast, reliable and high-quality strategic support to our internal stakeholders and external partners.
 
As a senior leader, you will be responsible for a global team of 80+ staff across PA Management, Operations, and Knowledge. You will also contribute to firm-wide priorities through your participation in cross-practice communities, supporting collaboration and alignment beyond the TMT PA.

Setting a Strategic Vision and Driving to Outcomes

Serve as a strategic thought partner to PA Leadership, helping define and execute the long-term visionLead annual PA planning including communicating and winning support from the wider organisationFacilitate high-impact strategic discussions, and ensure alignment across Regions, Sectors, and FunctionsOversee deep dives and analyses to inform key decisions using business and competitive insightsEvolve run-the-business and go-to-market approaches in collaboration with Regional PALs and Sector LeadersIdentify and mobilize growth opportunities, outlining investment cases and tracking executionMonitor business performance, flag risks, and recommend leadership interventions to stay on trackManage overall PA budgets and investments, ensuring alignment with strategic prioritiesSupport PAL with special initiatives (e.g. keynotes, firmwide leadership engagements)Rapidly coordinate teams in response to external shifts to stay ahead with clients

 

Shaping and Accelerating Thought Leadership, IP, and Product Agenda

Shape the Practice’s IP strategy, driving the development of new content, products, tools, and databasesFoster collaboration with internal (e.g. BHI, Functional PAs, BCG.X) and external thought leadersOversee investment governance, ensuring high ROI and alignment with strategic goalsPartner with the Vantage (Knowledge) team to enhance methodology capture and innovate in tools and dataDrive internal dissemination of content and offers across MDPs and consulting teamsEvaluate and pursue strategic partnerships (e.g. academic or corporate collaborations)

 

Building Our Brand and External Seat at the Table (SATT)

Collaborate with Marketing and Sector Leaders to shape Marketing strategy and deliver compelling external content, publications, PR, andeventsOversee the Practice’s presence at key global events (e.g. Mobile World Congress) and evolve our positioningTrack ROI on external investments to refine brand strategy and optimize impactExplore innovative branding tactics and strategic collaborations to expand reach

Defining and Delivering on Our People Agenda

Setting and Delivering Against the Vision for PA Teams

Define the vision, culture, and performance goals for PA Management and Operations, and Vantage teamsLead and coach direct reports, oversee talent pipeline, and guide hiring and team structureParticipate in key management processes (e.g. performance reviews, Career Development Committees)Partner with Global Knowledge Business Senior Director to shape the future of the Vantage team

Representing TMT Across the BCG PA Community

Act as a primary interface with global BCG functions (Finance, HR, Legal, Marketing, etc.)Participate in GPMSD forums and firmwide discussions on PA leadership prioritiesRepresent the Practice in cross-PA initiatives, sub-teams, and strategic projectsCommunicate PAL group outcomes to relevant internal stakeholders

What You'll Bring

Senior consulting skills preferred, 12+ years of relevant experience MBA or similar Masters degree preferredSignificant BCG experience preferred, ideally in the consulting staff (equivalent to Partner or senior Principal)Significant line management experienceExperience leading large global/virtual teamsDeep understanding of the core Tech, Media and Technology SectorsWe are looking for someone who is bold and aspirational, Willing to challenge and drive, while staying close to the detail necessary Proficient in PowerPoint, Word and Excel; familiar with collaboration tools (Slack, Trello, MS Teams etc)Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

TMT Management Team, Leadership Team, TMT Management and Operations team (reporting into you), Knowledge Team (reporting into you), ECTers and senior stakeholders in the BCG practices, regions and functions.

US Ranges: Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, retirement contribution, and a market leading benefits package described below.

The base salary range for this role is  $198,000.00 - $256,666.67.

 

This is an estimated range, however, specific base salaries within the range depend on various factors such as experience and skill set. It is not common for new BCG employees to be hired at the high-end of the salary range. BCG regularly reviews its ranges to ensure market competitiveness.

In addition to your base salary, your total compensation will include a bonus of up to 45% and a generous retirement contribution that starts at 10%.

 

Senior Directors are also eligible for a Firm Performance Bonus.
