This role reports into the Senior Global Medical Director and Atopic Dermatitis (AD) indication Lead within the Dermatology team that is part of the Medical Affairs Specialty Care organization.


Our Medical Affairs function serves as a key strategic partner with commercial, regulatory, clinical, and market access on therapeutic solutions to support patients’ needs. Within the Dermatology Medical Affairs team, we are proud to support Sanofi’s deep commitment and investment in treating diseases driven by type 2 inflammation in support of our patients, and partner with HCPs on understanding medical need and ways to provide best care to patients around the world.

Main Responsibilities:

The position will report to the Senior Director Global Medical, Dermatology, and will be responsible for medical affairs activities focusing on medical education activities and stakeholders engagement.

A summary of responsibilities include:

Plan and Lead activities related to medical education program, interacting with agencies, scientific communications, procurement, publication teams, internal and external experts.

Ensure delivery of high-quality, compliant, fair-balanced, scientifically/clinically accurate medical communications deliverables in accordance with established timelines, compliance guidelines/policies, and budgets.

Develop, review, and approve content for Scientific Communication materials and activities (scientific platform, internal training slide decks, external facing reactive decks) ensuring content is based in accurate and updated data, visually appealing, and aligned with scientific communication strategy.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with experts in the Dermatology field, academics and professionals and patient associations. 

Interact with global and affiliates teams to capture and understand educational gaps, insights, and track new data from LCM, HEOR, RWE, ISSs that can be leveraged in symposia.

Participate in publications meetings, be an internal reviewer for abstracts/posters and manuscripts, propose and lead some original concepts.

Contribute to Medical Competitive Readiness activities, including updates to tool, reactive decks, zoom in competitor’s data and deep dive trainings.

Collaborate with the Alliance to plan and execute medical education activities in Brand plan and Global Medical Affairs Plan.

Deliver regular internal trainings on content developed, in collaboration with scientific communication, competitive readiness and publication teams

Travel required, comprising approximately 20-30%.

About You

Develop and execute comprehensive medical affairs strategies aligned with global business objectives
• Lead the strategic direction of medical education programs, ensuring alignment with therapeutic area priorities
• Drive development and evolution of education and dissemination of scientific data in Atopic Dermatitis  based on emerging data and market needs
• Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with key scientific experts in Atopic Dermatitis
• Shape publication strategy and scientific communications to maximize impact of clinical data

Orchestrate global medical education programs, including preceptorships, symposia, forums, managing cross-functional relationships with agencies, procurement, and internal stakeholders
• Lead the development and execution of scientific communication and publication plans, ensuring strategic alignment and operational efficiency
• Drive continuous improvement in medical affairs processes and deliverables
• Manage budget and resources effectively across multiple projects and initiatives
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies

Spearhead the development of high-impact scientific communications and medical education materials
• Lead publication planning and execution, including original research concepts
• Drive innovation in data communication and scientific storytelling
• Provide strategic oversight for abstract/manuscript development and review
• Champion evidence generation initiatives including RWE and HEOR studies

Build and maintain strategic relationships with key experts in dermatology and Atopic Dermatitis
• Partner with global and affiliate teams to identify and address educational gaps
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with Alliance partners
• Drive medical competitive intelligence, gaps identification and insights generation in Atopic Dermatitis
• Deliver expert training and education to internal stakeholders
 
 

About You

Education:

MD or PhD required

Experience:

Minimum 4 years' experience in medical affairs, with specific focus in dermatology and Atopic Dermatitis
• Proven track record of strategic leadership in global medical affairs
• Demonstrated success in publication planning and scientific communications
• Experience in managing complex stakeholder relationships and matrix teams
Strategic Capabilities:
• Exceptional strategic thinking with ability to translate scientific insights into actionable plans
• Strong business acumen and understanding of medical affairs' role in achieving corporate objectives
• Proven ability to lead change and drive innovation in medical education

Dermatology expertise in medical affairs required

Minimum 3 years’ experience in industry medical affairs

Prior experience in Regional/ affiliate medical affairs role. Global experience highly advantageous

Experience working within an international company with a complex organizational environment; able to operate in a matrix team-oriented structure

Demonstrated track record of strategic execution in a matrix environment with limited supervision

Ability to work in teams and interface in a dynamic environment across corporate functions

Prior experience of successfully managing consultants and vendors

Technical skills:

Deep understanding of dermatology therapeutic area and emerging treatment landscapes
• Knowledge of clinical development, RWE, and medical affairs operations

The salary range for this position is:

$206,250.00 - $297,916.66
