What You'll Do

The Global L&D Transformation Management Office (TMO) is an integral part of the worldwide L&D organization, providing support for effective decision making at both global and regional levels to transform our L&D function to meet the needs of our learners and business. The team partners with the leadership of our Global COEs, regional L&D organizations as well as the global and regional finance functions for effective joint financial planning. 


This role is ideal for a finance professional looking to expand into a broader business and HR context while leveraging deep financial expertise. You will serve as a strategic finance partner to L&D leadership, responsible for driving end-to-end financial oversight, shaping long-term investment strategies, and ensuring that financial rigor informs every major L&D initiative. 

 

You will provide critical decision support for the end-to-end L&D budget, including portfolio-level trade-off recommendations, opportunity sizing, and investment prioritization. To succeed, you must combine strong analytical and modeling skills with the ability to think strategically about cost drivers, value creation, and business impact. 

 

The work will span multi-year strategic planning, annual planning, and ad-hoc scenario simulations (e.g., assessing ROI of expanding coaching programs or investing in new learning technologies). In addition, you will lead and support cross-functional initiatives, applying financial acumen to drive transformation projects across the L&D function. 


 


Key Responsibilities 


Strategic Financial Oversight 

Lead the end-to-end management of the global L&D budget, ensuring alignment with overall business and HR priorities. Drive portfolio-level decisions, evaluate investment opportunities, and recommend trade-offs to optimize ROI. 


Financial Planning & Modeling 

Shape 2–3-year strategic plans through financial modeling, scenario planning, and business case development. Develop robust frameworks to evaluate emerging investment areas (e.g., digital learning platforms, coaching, leadership development). 


Stakeholder Influence 

Act as the key financial liaison between global finance and L&D leadership, integrating financial insights into corporate strategy. Provide clear, data-driven recommendations that influence senior leaders’ decision-making. 


Special Projects & Transformation 

Partner with L&D and HR leaders on special projects, ensuring financial viability and alignment with transformation goals. Support initiatives such as carbon reduction commitments and integration of specialty businesses. 


Insights & Communication 

Deliver compelling executive-level insights through financial storytelling, dashboards, and presentations. Present recommendations with clarity, ensuring complex analyses translate into actionable strategies. 


Collaboration & Leadership 

Build strong relationships across L&D, finance, and HR leadership to foster trust and drive alignment. Contribute to leadership discussions by developing a well-founded point of view, acting as a thought partner on both financial and business strategy. 


 

YOU’RE GOOD AT 

Building relationships will be critical to success in this role to establish a seat at the table as a true business partner. This will require the ability to balance when to listen, negotiate, flex or push back where needed. Further, you will be looked at as the subject matter expert for all financial aspects of the function which you support, which will require you to be proactive in learning and understanding the business which you are supporting, to align our financials to the value and services that are being provided. This role will require a confident person with exceptional judgment, who can make and influence decisions with senior management through ownership of the annual financial planning, cost trend analysis, business cases and portfolio management for investments, large scale transformations, etc. To drive educated decision making, you need a sound understanding of the bigger picture and an ability to prioritize. Team management skills to balance overall business prioritization and individual role satisfaction is also an important capability. Ultimately this person will need to have a consultative approach to problem solving, working closely with stakeholders to understand the problem we are trying to solve, providing accurate and insightful analysis, and offering viable solutions. 

What You'll Bring

A minimum of 5 years’ related finance or management consulting experience Bachelor’s degree in finance/economics and/or a MBA preferred Excellent communication skills – both oral and written, with the ability to adjust to multiple audiences and the confidence to present to and influence senior management A passion for working in a collaborative team environment Critical Thinking and problem solving – proven ability to work through complex problems and analyses in providing a thoughtful concrete solution Motivation and self-drive – excited by tackling challenges and pro-actively finding new ways to provide value to senior leadership Advanced Excel skills - experience building scalable financial models and analyzing large data sets Advanced PowerPoint presentation experience with the ability to turn data into business insights Other strong system skills are benefits, such as knowledge of Tableau, Alteryx, Think-Cell, PowerBI, and Snowflake

As a complex matrix structured organization, you will work with the global L&D team as well as have a close collaboration with the regional teams. You will establish strong relationships across our people functions and beyond to successfully learn, educate and influence others. Your key stakeholders will include regional L&D Directors, the global finance team and various L&D COE experts (e.g. learning journey owners) to work through a cohesive E2E budget.
