What You'll Do

As a hands-on Global IT Platform Engineering Director & Chapter Lead, you will drive technical initiatives, influencing and guiding software developers, platform engineers, and support teams to build and maintain SaaS solutions, platforms and integrations both for BCG's internal legal software development team as well as our legal functional users. In this Agile operating environment, you’ll leverage your expertise to steer technical discussions, define solutions, and ensure alignment across teams. This role involves contributing to solution design, enhancing the reliability and scalability of applications, championing best practices in the software delivery lifecycle, driving excellence through our L2 Ops teams, and improving the operational maturity of QA test automation.


Key responsibilities include:

Providing technical expertise and mentorship across platform engineering teams to foster growth, resolve technical challenges, and support escalation processes.Managing enterprise SaaS solutions and their API integrations in complex and heterogeneous environmentsManaging vendor relationship activities related to execution of work delivery and ongoing support, maintenance and upgrade of the platformsManaging L2 Ops resources responsible for supporting our SaaS and custom-developed applications, enhancing observability and providing insights and actionable intelligence on platform health, effectiveness, and operational maturityAdvancing DevOps practices by integrating automated QA testing across our SaaS and custom-developed platforms to enable efficient, high-quality software delivery and automated regression testing of our solutionsDriving rapid delivery through an MVP approach, enabling fast prototyping, iterative development, and impactful feature rolloutsExploring and adoption Generative AI (GenAI) applications to create innovative solutions and improve business functionality and user experienceConducting technical analysis of custom and third-party software and working with vendors on modifications and future enhancements of their platformsCreating clear Technical Systems Design and Non-Functional Requirements documentation based on business & technical demands to maintain high quality across the product lifecycleSupporting production environments, providing root cause analysis, swift remediation, and ongoing application maintenance

What You'll Bring

You Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

10+ years in platform engineering in a commercial IT or consulting environment, with demonstrated technical leadership experienceA strong track record of mentorship, supporting team growth and fostering a collaborative environment, with previous recognition for effective guidance and commitment to developing team potential and success.Proficiency in cloud solutions (Azure & AWS), data Integrations, container technologies, and engineering best practicesSolid understanding of DevOps practices and automation in software delivery pipelinesAn MVP mindset that emphasizes rapid prototyping and continuous improvement.Interest in Generative AI applications to enhance business processes and user experiences.Adaptability and technical curiosity to quickly adopt new tools and methodologies.

In the US, we have a compensation transparency approach. 

 

Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, retirement contribution, and a market leading benefits package described below. 

The base salary range for this role in Boston is $181,000 -$221,000

This is an estimated range, however, specific base salaries within the range depend on various factors such as experience and skill set. It is not common for new BCG employees to be hired at the high-end of the salary range. BCG regularly reviews its ranges to ensure market competitiveness.

 

In addition to your base salary, your total compensation will include a bonus of up to 30% and a generous retirement contribution that starts at 5% and moves to 10% after 2 years.
