The job
We’re looking for a Director of Global Events Delivery who’s ready to dream big, deliver boldly, and lead with heart. This is a high-impact role where you’ll shape unforgettable experiences that bring our brand to life across the globe — from flagship conferences to intimate leadership forums.
You’ll be the driving force behind the execution of our global events strategy, leading a talented team and collaborating with partners across marketing, sales, product, and leadership to create memorable and meaningful customer experiences whilst demonstrating strong ROI, impact and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities
Lead the team to deliver our global events strategy to include internal conferences, our external customer event (AVEVA World) and key 3rd party events
Allocate resources across the event delivery team whilst also leading on projects yourself
Support the VP Global Events to define events strategy and KPIs across our events portfolio
Lead project teams consisting of brand, marketing operations, sales, campaigns and channel marketing to deliver the events
Responsible for effective budget management while ensuring high-quality, high-impact events that generate strong ROI
Manage vendor and agency relationships working with procurement to define KPIs, terms and operating models
Become a business partner and trusted advisor to sales teams and leadership
Help to develop operational playbooks for events that can be used by the Global team and regional colleagues
Analyse event performance through post-event surveys, interviewing colleagues and customers to continuously identify areas of improvement and transformation
Introduce unique event ideas and experiences in virtual and hybrid landscape, leveraging appropriate technology that integrates with the current marketing stack
Essential requirements
Experience of leading the delivery of global events, including customer conferences covering multiple business areas with budgets of £5m+ and 2,000 + delegates
Possess a growth mindset looking for new ways to innovate event delivery and make processes more efficient
Strong leadership skills and a passion for mentoring and team development.
A strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to execution.
Experience working for a large global organisation
Multi-tasking both team management and event delivery
Experience of leading geographically diverse teams
Proven decision-making and problem-solving capabilities
Demonstrated exceptional project management, organisation and planning skills
Experience managing event agencies to deliver outstanding events within budget
Challenges the status-quo and looks for innovative solutions that help simplify processes
Flexibility for international travel and working evening hours and some weekends depending on event schedule
