Key job responsibilities
The Global Engineering Strategy EMEA Manager owns the strategy and pre-design for all new real-estate sites across Amazon's global data center portfolio. This role sets the strategic direction for site feasibility and risk mitigation, ensuring Design Engineering teams have the right information to proceed to design start.
- Lead GES EMEA as the primary point of contact for all Design Engineering during the due diligence phase, including attendance at due diligence meetings, review and approval of reports, and engineering support to the Risk & Resiliency team
- Own the development of conceptual masterplans that incorporate risk mitigations identified during due diligence, including site testfit, conceptual utility and civil plans, acoustic modelling, and design-ready geotechnical investigations
- Deliver pre-design handover documents that articulate site strategy, major risks, and mitigation approaches for all new real-estate sites
- Lead feasibility assessments for major intercept programmes (e.g., TITUS), delivering updated conceptual masterplans inclusive of testfit, acoustic modelling, and updated utility and civil plans
- Build and develop a high-performing team of Global Strategy Engineers, setting clear expectations and driving technical excellence

You'll guide your team through site feasibility assessments, intercept programme evaluations, and pre-design handovers, while influencing senior design and real estate decisions across global teams. Your work ensures every new site enters the design phase with a clear strategy, well-understood risks, and robust mitigation plans.
